[Photowalk] Long exposure night out @ Sunter-Kemayoran, Jakarta

Yo what's up, dejivruR's in da house, now some nights ago, i decided to get back on the old hobby, taking pics on da streetz, a photowalk around the streets near my hood, and these are what i get from the photowalk, interesting photos that satisified my soul... this time i get to play with slow shutter speed. more after the break

taking photos of light trails has always been an interesting thing to me... this shot is taken on a busway terminal that stands just above the waters below... night stalls are always open to serve common food such as nasi uduk with fried or roasted chicken, usually until about midnight... but some closed before midnight...

taken from above the pedestrian bridge above the streets tha is integrated to a busway terminal, busway is a terminology for MRT (Mass Rapid Transportation) in Jakarta to refer big busses that serves Jakartans rapidly to transport them from one place to another... because Jakarta is a big big city, moving from a region to another could be quite far, so public transportation like busway is a good way to travel...

red lights... blue lights... hot n cold temperature... always a pair...

dancing lights, taken on night time around 10 shows just how inconsistent the movements of the rider & drivers when the streets are uncrowded

i don't know why i captured this, but somehow i just felt taking shots out of these soulless city lights... can't feel emotion out of em' at this place but made me feel calm...

this is the Badan meteorologi dan geofisika kemayoran building or BMGK building which is in charge of geophysics & meteorology researches... the building is somehow unique, having this solitary light emitting sphere on it's top that shifts colors every 5 seconds plus the repetitive element of lines on the horizontal mass and this diagonal element of line in a form of diagonal light really sums it up artistically...

Jalan Benyamin Sueb is one street that named after the legendary Betawinese Entertainer, Mr. Benyamin Sueb, he is one multi-talented artist that inspired many people and especially comedians, these lightlines are just as inspiring as he is

lightlines are always inspiring to me, somehow capturing them made me felt so alive...

under construction... another apartement is rising on Kemayoran, more living space for more people, but sadly property prices in Jakarta are skyrocketing, and to many are considered over-valued, and is not attainable to lower or mid-class people, this irony has led to where people think Jakarta is cruel and unforgiving...

this is an open space outside the border of the apartments that stands behind it, i don't know the reason why they put a purple spotlight there but it's just mystical to me, the ambience of the light, enigmatic walls that stands before the darkness, and the trees as well as the muddy grounds makes it all creepy but somehow... interesting

a busway terminal on jalan Landas pacu timur...

a view to lightlines, and all the apartment buildings that stands along jalan Landas pacu timur...

lightstream of Jalan Landas pacu timur, Kemayoran

the city never sleeps, yes that is probably quite right for Jakarta, even before midnight, a lot of vehicles still travel from one place to another... just like these on Jalan Landas Pacu Timur, Kemayoran, luckily i managed to capture of crossing lights...

that night after the rain... the moon shines brightly over this cold cold city...
warping solitary souls on loneliness, and sadness fall beyond abyss...
Jakarta is cold and unforgiving city, yet beautiful, and offered many chances and opportunities... a complex city indeed...

well, hope y'all enjoy what i got from my photowalk this time
